Timber Wolf's Gurkha Woodmaster is inspired by the legendary khukuri - the bladed weapon of choice for the storied, ever fierce Nepalese Gurkha warriors. Often called "the king of all knives," the khukuri - aka "kukri" - is marked by a sinister inward curving blade that for centuries has proven deadly on the battlefield and indispensable in rugged Himalayan woodlands. Albeit on a smaller scale, the Gurkha Woodmaster boasts a similar inward curving blade that's every bit as potent as its larger cousin. At 7 3/8" long, the menacing blade makes quick work of demanding chopping and hacking jobs, while a generous choil allows for the deft control required for delicate tasks like game skinning and even woodcarving. Hand forged from stunning Damascus steel, the Gurkha Woodmaster's blade is covered in a dazzling array of swirls, waves and brilliantly contrasting lines. The striking patterns are the result of a centuries-old metalsmith technique that involves firing, folding, hammer welding and acid etching various high carbon steels. It's a painstaking process that's repeated for days until the desired effect is achieved. And because it's all done by hand, each Gurkha Woodmaster blade is truly unique. The stately hardwood handle is lightly stained and polished to highlight the natural woodgrain; it's the perfect complement to the Damascus steel's rich figure. Brass lined through-holes (or lanyard holes, if you wish to use them as such) and a geometric circle-patterned rosette complete the handle, which is ergonomically contoured for a superb hand feel. Housed in the included genuine leather belt sheath, the Gurkha Woodmaster is easy to transport, making it an ideal back country companion. It's equally well suited to display - on its own or in a fine knife collection. Regardless of what you decide to do with it, try Timber Wolf's Gurkha Woodmaster Damascus Fixed Blade Knife once, and you'll see why it's called "the king of all knives."
