The blade bears a rain drop pattern that is formed by dimples that are pressed or drilled into the Damascus bar instead of grooves. The resulting pattern will look like bull’s-eyes or raindrops on a pond making the blade eye catching. A lot of time and effort is put in to create a Damascus piece so much so that it is hard to find two pieces that are exactly the same. Each piece is different in its own way. That is why most creators use durable but unique materials for the handles. Wood and bone is often seen paired with Damascus blades just like in the handle you see here.
